Young Street

Set on the edge of the Mahurangi East coastline, our Young Street project sits quietly within the natural contours of the land, responding to the rhythms and textures of its coastal setting. A collection of gabled forms, clad in a balance of warm timber and dark vertical boards, follows the contours of the site to frame uninterrupted views across the site. Generous sliding openings dissolve the boundary between interior and landscape, allowing everyday living to extend onto sheltered decks and outdoor gathering spaces. Inside, warm timber finishes and a calm, pared-back material palette reinforce this connection, drawing the colours and textures of the surrounding landscape into the heart of the home.
